Mr. Sami Sharif started his career as an actuary at American International Group (AIG), where he rose to the position of Chief Actuary and worked in various places such as New York and the Middle East. He proceeded to work as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in the United States and from there to Booz Allen, today known as Strategy&, in Europe and in the Middle East. During this period, he conducted various strategic studies for several private and governmental institutions.
He then took over the position of a Member of the Board of Directors and Regional CEO of the American global company ACE, known today as CHUBB. He founded the company in Egypt and in the UAE and headed their businesses.
Mr. Sami Sharif served as CEO of AIM Consulting, a management and actuarial consulting firm in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, during which time he was also a board member of Omni Life, in the United Kingdom.
He moved to the Islamic Arab Insurance Company and worked as a General Manager in the UAE, establishing the Misr Emirates Life Insurance Company branch, where he held the position of Vice Chairman and Managing Director. He has held the position of CEO of Kuwait Insurance Company since 2016, also he is the Chairman of Kuwait Islamic Takaful Insurance.
Mr. Sami Sharif holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Space Physics and a Master of Mathematics, both from the University of Houston in the United States, where he worked for several years as a lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics. He has been a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in the United States since 1996 and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) since 1993.
