Farzanah Chowdhury is Bangladesh’s first female MD & CEO in the insurance sector, currently leading Green Delta Insurance PLC. Under her leadership, the company has maintained an “AAA” credit rating for 11 consecutive years and earned Superbrands recognition since 2020. A pioneer in digital insurance, she launched the sector’s first mobile app and is stimulating agricultural, livestock, and weather-index-based climate insurance, benefiting over 1.5 million farmers. She also spearheaded the Shashtha Suroksha Karmashuchi (SSK) project, providing healthcare to over 7 million living below poverty line. Recognized globally, she was named a Local SDG Pioneer in 2016 for her women-focused insurance initiative, Nibedita. Farzanah holds key leadership roles, including at the World Economic Forum, UN Global Compact Bangladesh, and as G100 Global Chair. She also serves on the boards of Bata Bangladesh and Linde Bangladesh, and received numerous accolades, including Best CEO – Insurance and Woman Leader of the Year.
