Koy is a dynamic leader in the insurtech and banking sectors with over 15 years of experience across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. In 2024, he moved to the UAE with a clear mission: to contribute to the region’s fintech transformation by building an insurtech business that leverages AI, digital innovation, and modern business models to reimagine how people experience finance and insurance.
Koy is now the CEO of Protego, a digitally-enabled insurance broker. His leadership background covers product development across Life, General, and Health Insurance, as well as leading Bancassurance at Citibank, DBS, and RAKBANK.
Koy’s deepest professional passion lies in digital transformation. At DBS, he led the data and digital transformation of retail insurance and investment functions, earning internal accolades for delivering impactful change across the organization. He later headed the Digital Insurance business unit at AIA Malaysia, spearheading innovative embedded-insurance partnerships with leading digital fintech platforms. In addition, he was part of the pioneering team that established the insurtech business line within Sea Group, a prominent global fintech player listed in the United States.
